| Boat Hire |
Bath is blessed with both the River Avon and the Kennet and Avon canal, which merge in the city centre just south of the railway station. Pulteney weir in the centre of Bath prevents navigation of the river. Frequent river trips depart from Pulteney Bridge taking about an hour to reach Bathampton Mill and return (you can stop for a drink or lunch there). You can also hire your own punt or rowing boat from Bath Boating Station, which will of course be more leisurely. Short trips on canal boats are also available, and finally, you can hire a canal boat in Bath for a half day to several weeks, and navigate the canal east through towards Bradford-on-Avon and ultimately London.
